Grant County Rescue Runs On Major Extrication In Saline County
Mon. Feb 8th 2010

The members of Grant County Rescue responded to a reported accident with injury around 7AM this morning.

One MEMS Medic unit along with Heavy Rescue-2 from Sheridan responded to Hwy 35 North just across the Saline County line.

They arrived on scene to find a single vehicle that had went off the road and wrapped around a tree, pinning the driver inside.

Members on Rescue-2 carefully removed the vehicle from around the driver using several hydraulic rescue tools. Door pops, a half roof removal and a dash roll was needed. Several parts of the car also had to be completely cut away.

The driver was removed in under 20 minutes and MEMS Medic's transported the patient.

This would be the fourth call, and 2nd major emergency for Grant County Rescue in just 2 hours.

Grant County Rescue is an all volunteer rescue company that covers all of Grant County from one station. Year to date they have responded to 122 emergency calls.
